Black Lounge was founded by frontman George Grant in early 2024, marking the start of an exciting new chapter in alternative rock. George’s musical journey began during the 2020 lockdown, when he first picked up a guitar and started writing songs. Rather than simply learning covers, he immediately began crafting original music, channeling the raw energy of early 2000s alternative rock while developing a sound uniquely his own.

What began as a solo project in George’s bedroom has since evolved into a full-fledged band, featuring the talents of Charlie Betts (lead guitar), Nick Everrett (drums), and Callum Saunders (bass guitar). Together, Black Lounge aims to revive a sound that has been missing for decades, with a fresh and distinct identity.

The band’s growth has been supported by a dedicated team that believes in their potential. Chris Wright, founder of Chrysalis Records and Heart Radio, signed Black Lounge to a three-year publishing deal under BMG, through his own Wright Tracks Publishing. Their manager, Peter Burrell of Spirited Management, brings a wealth of experience and industry connections, helping to open doors and build momentum for the band. Musical Director and Producer Steve Bentley-Klein, known for his work with Paolo Nutini and Deep Purple, is guiding the band through the production of their debut EP, Verge of Apocalypse, set for release in late November.

Black Lounge has already shared some of their tracks with listeners, along with unreleased material that offers a glimpse into what’s to come. With a passion for live performance, George and the band are eager to hit the stage and make their mark on the music scene. They firmly believe there is something special in Black Lounge’s music, and they’re ready to share it with the world.
